BOOKSHELF IN SPRUCE
The Galaxies bookshelf by Aherin Studio in spruce features rounded corners and short conical hand-carved legs.
The backing is made from re-sawn spruce installed as a textured panel from the inside pinned by dowels, lending both structural integrity and a soft aesthetic.
Finished in a transparent oil that keeps the spruce ultra-light in colour while retaining a soft honey warmth – and silky satin to the touch.
The name Galaxies is inspired by the natural beauty of the tiny knots in spruce – treated with extra care to be filled and colour matched – as well as the worlds that await to be explored within the contents of a bookshelf.
