A handcrafted pedestal that holds those precious possessions right next to your head as you sleep, the Oystercatcher Bedside Table is curiously creature-like. Its natural blonde Beech body and runnerless drawer are complemented by accent legs in rich Kiaat and custom laminated Walnut handle – reminiscent of the red legs and beak of the seabird native to Southern Africa.
Organically formed legs evoke the image of both bird legs and trees, whose branches hold the drawer box, embedded into the casing for visual effect.
Drawers have been hand-carved with half-blind dovetail joints – such that the entire unit is 100% timber. A gap frames the drawer box perfectly, giving the front and back a look of sophisticated precision.
Rounded corners, engineered for strength, soften the piece – both to the eye and the touch.
