This was a fun commission by an interior designer for an exclusive members club and art foundation in Umhlanga, Durban – The Pencil Club. Based on a wooden toy design I’d created for my nephew, a concept based on balancing stones seen on beaches in Cape Town and around the world, each “stone” is an offcut of wood that is hand-sanded into a smooth organic shape.
For the Pencil Club project I handmade a storage box to store the wooden stacking stones, laser engraved with the Aherin logo, with an insert of game instructions printed on textured card.
